We believe the Youth Ministry is extremely important as it promotes growth in both faith and fellowship. It provides an honest, safe and fun environment in which the youth are able to share in confidence, with youth of similar ages.
From a support perspective, being able to spend time with fellow teen believers is very important. The Youth Ministry is hugely designed to encourage sharing discussions within the groups, without fear of being judged. Further support systems are available including a trained counselor.
Another main objective of the Youth Ministry is to provide a platform in which the youth are able to mature with a Christian mind set, which will in turn help them make the correct decisions in life. To mix and grow with other believers of the same age and to grow in understanding of God’s word is also recognized as hugely important.
Once a month a testimony is shared, either from a person within our church, or someone from another church. Testimonies are mostly received from a ‘slightly older’ person which provides the youth with a healthy Christian role model.
Although important lessons are learnt through testimonies and structured lessons, the emphasis is on having fun while at the same time learning and growing in God’s word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Message for 2008
We are looking forward to an eventful Christ filled year with the youth this year, with more activities and fun on a Friday night and hopefully another camp. On Sundays we are focusing on how to be a Christian in today’s world especially for the teens of today. We pray that our youth will grow in numbers this year but more importantly will grow in Christ.
